A catalogue in the form of an artists’ book based on Guy Schraenen’s ‘Archive for Small Press & Communication’ collection, featuring a sampling of art, writings, concrete, visual, and sound poetry from over twenty-five countries. The archive was founded 1974 in Antwerp, Belgium with a focus on art from 1960–1980, but also dating back to the 1920s. The goal was to preserve material that had long been overlooked by the traditional art world. In here are reproduced fragments from some of the most well-known publications and artists in the field, including Hansjörg Mayer, Maurice Lemaître, Michael Gibbs, Wolf Vostell, Henri Chopin, Mirtha Dermisache, Joseph Beuys, Ben Vautier, Sol LeWitt, Carl Andre, J. H. Kocman, Andy Warhol, and Lawrence Weiner among several others. A rich, expansive, and visual journey which underpins the timelessness of this material.
