Niotou’s Remakes and associated mail art
Paris: Np, [1978]. First edition. Saddle-stapled softcover 4to in stiff glossy wrappers printed in black. With pages printed in black on recto sides only, and two postcards printed in black affixed to one page. Unpaginated [12 pp.]. To which is added two mailed envelopes, one with two A4 sheets folded twice, the other with one A4 sheet folded twice, the first of which are printed in black on verso, the third on recto and verso, with additional rubber stamps and small collage elements on all three.
Artists’ book and related mail art by Henri Niotou featuring a collection of concrete poetry and picture puzzles created 1976, 1977, and 1978. A selection of the pages from the book were reproduced as mail art the same year and treated in various ways with rubber stamps and collage elements. Mailed envelopes addressed to Swedish experimental sound and poetry group Fylkingen.
Book very good or better with trace amounts of scuffing to covers, bumps to corners, and age toning on account of the paper. Envelopes and letters very good with signs of being mailed, including handling creases and bumps to corners. Item #1044
