TPL : Tombeau de Pierre Larousse
Wuppertal: Verlag der Kalender, 1961. First edition. Large square 4to in blank wrappers, bound with French-fold signatures silk screened in black on white paper. Laid inside dust jacket printed in black. Unpaginated [60 pp.] Text in French and German.
Artists’ book designed Wolf Vostell featuring twenty-one full-page silk screens, mostly on versos, reproducing Décollages found in the streets of Paris. Published by Vostell a year prior to the first issue of Décollage. Includes a poem by François Dufrêne, and concrete poetry and a text by Alain Jouffroy.
A very good example of the book, with age toning, a few small stains to wrappers, and a narrow strip of abrading to fore edge of back wrapper. The printed dust jacket, however, is in battered shape mostly torn at the spine with some old tape reinforcement, two small holes to front panel, a few stray ballpoint ink marks in red at front, and other wear, including marginal tears and creasing. Thus, good only, but now protected in a mylar sleeve.
