Antwerpen: Archive for Small Press & Communication (A.S.P.C.), 1976. First edition of 500. Glue-bound narrow 8vo housed in dust jacket printed in black on thin red paper stock. Pages printed in black on high-acidity paper. 63 + 14 pp. Includes a label printed in red on gray stock, affixed with cellophane tape at crown of text block with a red string. Also includes a folded poster measuring 30 × 39.5 cm (11.8 × 15.6 in.), printed in black on a similar red paper stock as the dust jacket.
Catalog and folded poster issued on the occasion of Guy and Anne Schraenen’s first A.S.P.C. exhibition, presenting over 800 artists’ books, reviews, records, postcards, and related material. Includes introductions by Schraenen, Ulises Carrión, David Mayor, Clemente Padín, and Nicholas Zurbrugg, among others, alongside hundreds of listings and an index.
The exhibition began in Antwerp and traveled to Brussels, Ghent, and Amsterdam between June 1976 and March 1977. The folded poster promotes the Brussels showing.
Issued separately at the same time was a program in the form of an “object book” documenting the exhibition’s live performances.
