South of the Slot
San Francisco: Richard Alpert, 1975. Saddle-stapled 4to in printed wrappers. Unpaginated (24 pp.)
A photographically illustrated catalog issued on the occasion of a group show titled ‘South of the Slot’ which took place October – November, 1974 at 63 Bluxome Street in San Francisco. Each artist was given a time during the two-month period with no stated restriction on how the space was to be used. Works presented included video performances, live performances, projections, photo documentations, dance, music, and tableau and environmental situations. A well-assembled exhibition catalog that feels more like an artists’ book designed by Alpert, who also took the majority of the photographs.
Very good with rubbing and light crease marks to covers and age toning throughout. Item #154
