Grafik des Kapitalistischen Realismus

Berlin: Edition René Block, 1971. Horizontal 4to in black linen boards with a white foil stamped spine inside dust jacket printed in black and white, housed in publisher’s original cardboard box. 194 pp. Text in German.

A profusely illustrated catalog in the form of a book which explores art and associated concepts from the 1960’s and 1970’s as they relate to capitalism and the influence of western culture. With contributions by Brehmer, Hödicke, Polke, Lueg, Richter, and Vostell, who’s ‘B-52 Lipstick Bomber’ from 1968 adorns the dust jacket. Published in Berlin by René Block, the infamous gallerist who also ran a gallery in New York and exhibited early work of Joseph Beuys.

A fine example of the book and dust jacket, with publisher's cardboard box very good showing some age toning to extremities and bumps to flaps along the side that opens. Item #238
