A documentation showcasing reactions and commentaries of various authors and artists to Vostell’s 1970 happening ‘Salat’, which consisted of 25 boxes of salad traveling on a train between Köln and Aachen for 365 days with the goal to document their decomposition. Upon completion of the happening in 1971, an exhibition was organized at the Galerie René Block in Berlin. With contributions in the form of reproduced letters, drawings, artwork, and collages by Achim Schnurrer, Albert Moehn, Albrecht D., Arnfried Astel, Christoph Derschau, Christoph Schubert, G. J. de Rook, Dietrich von Oppeln, Franz Bitterich, Fritz Deppert, Hans-Jürgen Bulkowsky, Hans Imhoff, Harald K. Hülsmann, Heinz Jürgen Walter, Horst Tress, Jochen Gerz, Jürgen Stelling, Karl Kollmann, Klaus Groh, Oswald Andrea, Peter Engel, Peter Schumann, Rolf Nörtemann / Ruth Greiber, Siegfried C. Matschke, Steffen Missmahl, Thomas Reichel, and Ulrich Zimmermann among others. The vibrant silkscreen covers printed by Dietrich von Oppeln, who also contributes.

Rubbing and wear to extremities of silkscreen covers, with rippling to lower margins throughout from prior exposure to moisture, though no damp staining and none of the pages are stuck together. Else very good. Supplement with age toning, a light diagonal fold line at top left tip including a small closed tear, and bumps to corners. Else very good. Item #384
