JA—Zeitschrift für Literatur und Grafik Nr. 2

Stuttgart: VERSUCHE / Junge Akademie, 1968. Numbered special edition of 25, of which this is no. 23. Softcover 8vo in side-stapled printed red wrappers, with spine wrapped in black book cloth, blue paper end sheets, and French fold signatures printed on various types of paper. With three tipped in items, including two hand-assembled collages and one printed napkin. Unpaginated (18 pp.) Text in German.

An issue of this scarce artists’ magazine, edited by Martin Jürgens, featuring writing, artwork, found graphics, recycled newspaper pages, and several tipped in items including a printed napkin and two geometric paper collages by F. R. Werner. With contributions by Inge Dapunt, Karlhans Frank, Peter Handke, P. G. Hübsch, Heinz Jacobi, G. F. Jonke, Walter Kratzer, Pierre Puth, Ulrich Raschke. Much like the magazine ‘VERSUCHE’—also edited by Jürgens—a great example of the liberal and experimental publications coming out of West Germany in the late 1960s.

Light bumps to corners, handling creases to a few pages, and age toning throughout. Else near fine. Item #475
