Paris: Agentzia, 1970. First edition. Softcover 8vo in printed wrappers, with pages printed in black and combinations of orange, yellow, purple, and red. Unpaginated. Text in French. To which is added a two-page handwritten letter folded twice inside an envelope. Text in German. Book very good with rubbing to covers, light wear along extremities, and trace amounts of foxing along top of text block. Letter near fine showing only age toning, and envelope very good having been mailed and opened along top margin.

An early artists’ book exploring the delicate relationship between hand-written words and color by the German artist, writer, and concrete poet Annalies Klophaus. Complete with an introduction, a portrait, and a handwritten letter by the artist laid in which is signed and addressed at verso of envelope.

Published as no. 29 in the Editions Agentzia series, which was founded and directed by Jochen Gerz and Jean-François Bory, and which also included publications by Edgardo Antonio Vigo, Manfred Mohr, Sarenco, Jean-Claude Moineau, and Michele Perfetti among others. Item #540
