(Antwerp): Galerie Kontakt, 1976. Softcover. First edition of 14, of which this is no. 8. Side-stapled square 8vo with pages slightly offset. Covers rubber stamped in black and red, and pages handwritten in red and black felt-tip pen. Unpaginated (24 pp.) Signed and numbered by the artists at rear cover.

Unique artists’ book by Michael Gibbs featuring text fragments cut out of larger sheets assembled into a narrative that changes the words from a readable experience to something abstract. Published on the occasion of the Text Sound Image: Small Press Festival 1976 held in Antwerp, the first exhibition organized by A.S.P.C., which included work of several small publishers and artists, including Ulises Carrión, Henri Chopin, Clemente Padín, Guy Schraenen, and Paul de Vree among several others. Scarce.

Very good with age toning, faint spotting at front cover and few of the pages (possibly intentional), and darkening along spine and text block margins. Item #720
