A complete set of eight artists’ books published by ‘Edition & Verlag für Tendenz und Experiment,’ each number devoted to a specific artist or collaboration between two artists.

‘und 1: Contra Texte.’ Reinhold Koehler. 1969. 20 pp. Featuring a collection of right- and left-justified texts printed in red and black along a middle axis.

‘und 2: Gersaints Aushängeschild.’ Jirí Kolár. 1969. 24 pp. Featuring a collection of eleven typescript concrete poetry portraits of modernist artists, including Josef Albers, Brancusi, Marcel Duchamp, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Frantisek Kupka, Kasimir Malewitsch (Kazimir Malevich), Piet Mondrian, Kurt Schwitters, and Reinhold Koehler. A set of thirty portraits were also published in 1965 by Svoboda in Prague, Czechoslovakia under the Czech title ‘Gersaintuv stít’ (Signboard for Gersaint).

‘und 7: Textbilder.’ Rainer K. G. Ott. 1970. 24 pp. Featuring a collection of texts laid over various male portrait photographs by Heide Kirchchner, some of which are nudes.

‘und 8: Poems Pictures.’ Karel Adamus. 1971. 20 pp. Featuring a collection of Karel Adamus’ Poem Paintings with concrete poems laid over old paintings.

Individual issues are scarce, more so a complete set.

All issues very good or better with light toning and rubbing to covers. Including faint handling creases on no. 1. An area of sunning at back cover on no. 2. Faint handling creases to cover on no. 3. Darkening along spine on no. 4. Two small spots at upper front cover on no. 5. A faint fingerprint at front cover on no. 6. Darkening to inside covers on no. 7.
