Ghent, Belgium: The Idea of the Book, 2020. New from the publisher. First edition of seven hand-stamped and hand-numbered examples. Folded two-sided kraft and magenta or orange Day-Glow 4to variant covers, each one uniquely hand-stamped in black. Containing a saddle-stapled short 4to in self-wrappers printed in black on glossy paper, unpaginated [64 pp.], a saddle-stapled tall 4to in self-wrappers printed in black on uncoated paper, unpaginated [16 pp.], and two A4 sheets hand-stamped in black on recto sides on uncoated paper.

An assembling of four titles issued as one artists’ book by Belgian artist and designer Ruud Ruttens. An eloquent and modern intersection of abstract art, concrete poetry, and stamp art consisting of two books and two hand-stamped sheets. Each of the four titles can be read individually or as a sequence allowing them to build off and relate to each other in a number of ways. A contemporary homage in the tradition of other European artists, such as Hans (Jean) Arp, Herman de Vries, Ad Dekkers, and Jirí Valoch, showcasing the ever-lasting connection and impact between DADA, concrete poetry, and stamp art, and the timeless relevance of these art movements.

‘shuffle’ was assembled at the end of 2020 and includes the following titles:
‘für hans’ — second expanded edition of 20, originally issued in 2020
‘word not found’ — open edition, originally issued in 2019
‘rrrr tttt’ — first edition of 25, originally issued in 2020
‘rrrr uuuu tttt — unique, originally issued in 2020
