Nine works of visual and concrete poetry

Np: Np, Nd. Nine unbound sheets, three of which are 20.3 x 29.8 cm, one 20.3 x 25.5, two 21 x 16.5 cm, two 21 x 13.5 cm, and one 10.5 x 18.5 cm. Six of the sheets Xeroxed on rectos, two sheets Xeroxed on rectos and versos, and one sheet printed in red, all on thin cream paper. To which is added a hand cut piece of kraft paper with the artists signature in pencil.

An assembling of Xeroxed visual and concrete poems by Peter Mayer reproducing works produced in the mid- to late-’60s. Titled works include ‘EE.’ SH.’ KILROY WAR,’ ‘ULTRA SUPER INFRA SUB,’ ‘SAGA,’ ‘the needlessness of travel,’ ‘the boredom of the motorist,’ and ‘A million dollars of expletives encapsulated in epithets,’ which is the lone work printed in red. A frequent collaborator of Bob Cobbing who also was featured in the British concrete poetry anthology ‘MINDPLAY’ edited by fellow countryman John J. Sharkey.

Very good with handling creases on account of the thin paper, faint fold lines at corners, and darkening along bottom of recto and verso to two of the larger sheets. Item #952
